At the Whidden Gunworks Test Range, we’ve surely seen the importance of a fresh striker or firing pin spring.  We have solved accuracy problems on a number of rifles by simply replacing the striker spring.  We suggest changing your spring once a year at least to ensure the best accuracy and consistent velocities.  It’s low-cost insurance!
